It’s Friday and time to PARTY!!!

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Hey Everyone! If your visiting from the Ultimate Blog Party you have came to the right place. If we haven’t me before I’m AJ or Amber. I’m the nutty mom who runs this place.

Oh I’m sorry I forgot to tell you to make yourself at home. I was just so excited to see you! Don’t mind the dog he won’t bite. Kids calm down Momma is trying to talk to the visitors.

Ok, Ok that’s better. Would you like a drink? I have cookies too!

You really never know what is going to happen next here. With 4 kids, a sometimes crazy husband and all our little animal buddies who live on the farm it can get quite insane around here.

As for who I am…well you could say I am that Mom that you see riding her kids cars down the hill just because I love the thrill and the wind in my face. I love roller coasters and thunderstorms.

This a great party. Can you believe all the people and the prizes.
Here is what I really want to win!

#60 Pepsi Tote full of loot
#71 Flip flops for mom and daughter

Triaminic Sick Day Guidelines + $1.50 coupon off Triaminic

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

With two kids in school it seems like someone is always bringing home some kind of bug. When my kids are sick I want to do everything in my power to help them get better and be comfortable while they are sick.

One of the things I reach for when they have a cold is Triaminic Thin Strips. If your kids are like mine trying to get them to take medicine can become a nightmare. Triaminic Thin Strips are a life saver in our house.

Triaminic and the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) have teamed up to bring us the Sick Day Guidelines.

Here is a sample of what these guidelines include.

Consider keeping your child home if he or she:
Has a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher
Has been vomiting
Has symptoms that prevent him or her from participating in school, such as:
Excessive tiredness or lack of appetite
Productive coughing, sneezing
Headache, body aches, earache
Sore throat*
*A minor sore throat is usually not a problem, but a severe sore throat could be strep throat even if there is no fever. Other symptoms of strep throat in children are headache and stomach upset. Contact your pediatrician as your child needs a special test to determine if it is strep throat.

Small Talk Six: Green is my favorite color

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

Well not really. But this weeks topic for Small Talk Six over at MomDot is:

“6 Things you love that are green”

If you haven’t played before it’s simple. Every week there will be a new topic all you have to do is answer with 6 words, photos, sentences, videos etc.

Here are some of my favorite green things!

1. Frogs. I love to sit outside at night and listen to the frogs.

2. Spring time! Everything starts turning green instead of blah brown.

3. Grass. I love the smell of fresh cut grass, and love the way it feels on my bare feet.

4. Spinach and Artichoke Dip. I love this stuff. Check out my Spinach & Artichoke Recipe.

5. Emeralds. Two of my kids birth stones are emeralds. *Hint Hint David*

6. The green candle I am burning right now. It smells like a fresh cut Christmas tree.

Kelty Kids FC 2.0 Carrier *Review*

Monday, May 10th, 2010

When it’s nice outside you will most likely find my family outside. We love to walk to the creek and go swimming or just take a hike through the woods to try and see the deer. In the summer it’s non-stop adventures around here. Right now we are planning a camping/floating trip.

Thanks to MomFuse and Kelty I received a Kelty FC 2.0!

My Thoughts:

Weighing only 7lbs the Kelty FC 2.0 is actually very light and easy to carry.
When you look at it you would think it would be heavy and bulky. But it’s actually not.

The shoulder straps and waist belt are nice and padded so they don’t rub and make you uncomfortable. One thing I dislike about other carriers are when we are done with our long walks my shoulders feel like are going to fall off.

I love, love, love all the storage the Kelty FC 2.0 has. When you are hiking you need places to put the babies things like diapers, wipes, food and toys. Or how about snacks and drinks for you and family! It’s like a carrier and backpack all in one. You have the zip off diaper bag, under seat storage and the waist belt storage pocket. Which is perfect for your camera! See that’s a lot of storage!

And thanks to the adjustable seat, Rush won’t be growing out of this anytime soon. Well as long as he weighs less then 50lbs.

I can’t wait to take our next hike using the Kelty FC 2.0 and neither can Rush he loves it too!

I can’t believe this…it would only happen to me

At 3:15 I got ready to go get the kids from the bus stop. I get in the car and start backing out of the driveway. As I’m backing up I’m thinking “Something doesn’t feel right” I get right down the road maybe 20 feet, the windows are rolled down and Tucker says “What is that noise?”
Hmm I was thinking the same thing.

So I put it in park and get out to check it out. Crap! I have a flat. Seriously! I back up and go back to the house because my MIL is there visiting and decided to watch Rush while I went to get the kids. I run in the house because it’s almost the time that bus rolls through, and ask her to take her car down the road to pick them up for me.

Later I go out to air the tire up to see where the problem is as I’m airing it up I look at the front tire too. Crap! I have two flat tires. What Luck!

Seriously this would only happen to me. From now on I’ll make sure I check the tires before I leave no matter how big of a hurry I’m in.

ShopSavvy- Smart Shopping made easier!

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

Trying to find the best deal on your next purchase can be stressful. If you are like me you spend a lot of time perusing the internet hoping to hit the jackpot with an awesome deal. Times are tough and every extra dollar helps. We all want to get the biggest bang for our buck. So no stone goes unturned trying to find it. It can be a tiresome process. We search the web, check out the papers and weekly circulars. When we do find that amazing deal we feel accomplished and a little worn out.

Recently I had the chance to review a new mobile application called ShopSavvy.

What is ShopSavvy?
ShopSavvy is a new android application for T-Mobiles G1.

What does ShopSavvy Do?

With ShopSavvy finding the best price couldn’t be easier. You take a snapshot of the bar code with the phones built in camera. Or you can enter the bar code manually, I prefer to scan the bar code. It’s easier and faster. Once you have scanned or entered the bar code ShopSavvy finds the prices at online retailers or from you local retailers with GPS technology.

One of the best things is you can visit the website of the online retailer or make a call to the local retailer right then and there from your phone.

Before you decide to buy you may want to check out Reviews of the product first. You can do this right from you cell via ShopSavvy. I know when I’m making a big ticket purchase I want to make sure that the product does all it claims to do.

Or maybe the prices still aren’t where you want them to be. You’ve been eying that beautiful camera for awhile now but still aren’t prepared to pay the price they are asking. With ShopSavvy you can set up a Price Alert. Once that camera goes on sale it’s yours baby!

You can even set up a Wish List. We all have one of those. Now you can organize it onto your phone.

My Thoughts:

Overall this was a great application. It was so easy to use, I’m convinced that even my Mother in Law could figure it out. When telling her about it I think she fell in love with the concept.

ShopSavvy is currently only available with T-Mobiles G1. My cell phone service is still under contract with another provider so it’s really not option for me. Although I fell in love with the G1 and ShopSavvy. But if you are a current T-Mobile customer or are looking to switch. You should check out the T-Mobile G1.
